LCA SUPPORT SERVICES
The purpose of an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is to publicly disclose the environmental impacts of a product including its embodied carbon (EC) number.
EPDs combine the practice of life cycle assessment (LCA) with product transparency. At WAP Sustainability, we help companies create life cycle assessments (LCAs) and develop Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that help you meet customer requirements.

EPD Optimization
LEED Compliant EPD Optimization Documents are used to show life cycle assessment reductions against EPD Baselines, Industry-Wide baselines, or Product to Product Baselines. WAP Sustainability partners with Program Operators, LCA Verifiers and Critical Reviewers to develop EPD Optimization Documents and EPD Optimization Summary Reports that highlight GWP Reductions of 10%, 20% or any percentage for the LEED v4 and v4.1 Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO) Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – Option 2 Optimization Credit.
EPD Action Plans
WAP Sustainability can also help Manufacturers create LEED compliant Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) Action Plans that interpret LCA results and document strategies of reducing embodied carbon of products in accordance with the LEED v4 and v4.1 Building Product Disclosure and Optimization (BPDO) Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) – Option 2 Optimization Credit.
WAP provides expert verification services for Product Environmental Profiles (PEPs), a Type III environmental product declaration aligned with ISO 14040, ISO 14044, and ISO 14025. Our accredited verifiers thoroughly assess submitted Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) and PEPs to ensure alignment with PEP Eco-Passport standards. Through a detailed review and feedback process, we work with clients to finalize compliant PEPs that are ready for publication, including optional submission to the INIES database for products sold in France. LCA Critical Review
WAP provides LCA Reviews as part of the EPD Verification Process or for organizations looking to make comparative assertions about their LCA results. We have helped organizations by developing FTC-compliant LCA Review Processes including the organization of LCA Review Panels and multi-party LCA Critical Review.
